It’s been a while since former world champion Amalie Dideriksen took an individual win on the road, but she rectified that by finishing off fine team work to take stage 4 of the Women’s Tour.

"It was a very fast sprint. The girls did an amazing leadout.”, said Dideriksen who claimed her first international (individual) win of the season. "I am very happy with this victory."Our full report👇

Stage 4 Review
The race was neutralised early on; a crash after only five kilometres knocked out a number of riders including Jip van den Bos from Boels-Dolman. Charlotte Becker from Hitec Products-Birk Sport was solo, and quickly built a two-minute lead once the race was green-flagged again.
With the German rider up front, the first-category Snowshill climb split the field with a fifteen-rider group going clear. Reaching the summit, Audrey Cordon-Ragot (Wiggle-High5), last year’s Queen of the Mountains, jumped away with Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig (Cervélo-Bigla). In short order, they had got over to Becker and this powerful trio extended their lead towards three minutes.

Another split in the crosswinds, strong winds seemed to blow all day, saw the field again splintering. This prompted the sprinters’ teams to launch a more concerted chase which ate into the escapees’ lead.
Ludwig jumped away with 19 kilometers left but was brought back by her companions; they held off the chase until six kilometres to go. Despite late attempts by Aafke Soet (WNT Rotor) and Virtu Cycling’s Sara Penton, a bunch sprint was inevitable and Boels-Dolmans and Sunweb kept a fearsome pace to the line … Dideriksen won it clearly.
